Presenting StationBaseA DXing database application |
Presenting StationBase, for radio DXingBeta Testers Needed!![]() StationBase is a database program to help keep your DXing records organized. DXing is the hobby of listening for distant radio stations. The first known DXer was Gugliemo Marconi. Shortwave and broadcast bands are the most covered forms, but others are known to exist (for example, ham and CB bands, and TV). Initially designed as a web-based application, StationBase is now available as a stand-alone desktop application. StationBase tracks most of the information used by most DXers. It keeps track of the locations from which you do your DXing, and the equipment used. A station record is entered once; then Reception Reports are filed against it. A log feature can track unidentified receptions, etc. Colour-coding for countries makes your station listing brighter and easier to understand; and multiple filtering options exist. StationBase is easy to use; entering a new Reception Report can be done in seconds. Other features include: a Statistics Center; a Data Center where you can export your records to popular file formats; user-definable Networks and Frequency Bands. StationBase is fully self contained and does not rely on a database server or an Internet connection. Your data are as secure as your system. StationBase has been released into public beta testing. If you'd like to become a StationBase beta tester, please download it and give it a try. Installation Instructions are below, along with a copy of the User Documentation, to help you decide.
